Every good cycling event needs a prologue, right? So Saturday a group of riders navigated our way to Mission Beach for the ceremonial dipping of the tires in the Pacific. We got sand in our toes and tested our newly reassembled bikes with a 15 mile ride Saturday. Because of the fog that rolls in off the Pacific, this is better observed as an afternoon event, after the fog has burned off, than a first thing in the morning ride start. We are thirty people, twenty riders and ten support staff/crew. I'm feeling good about this group and the adventure ahead.
