OKLAHOMA! Today for dessert at lunch we had "halfway cupcakes." Its hard for me to believe, but we've ridden half the miles and half the days. The Eastern portion of yesterday's ride reintroduced us to rolling hills. Today was intermittent rollers all day with larger hills near the end of the day. My muscles we saying something like " We remember this - hills, booo." It was a comfortable day temperature-wise and we had a modest tailwind much of the day. Great, quiet riding roads, much of that on historic route 66 which followed I- 40 as a frontage road.
We stopped at two Route 66 Museums today. Both were worth the time to visit. Remember pink Cadillacs? One exhibit was a complete roadside dinner - see the narrative sign below:
Lunch is always a highlight of our day. Who doesn't like to eat. Here is a typical lunch scene and some of our fellow travellers:

We see all kinds of abandoned buildings, especially gas stations from the route 66 heyday. There were a lot of vintage vehicles in the museums we visited today, along the way. Oftentimes one sees cars and trucks on the road or alongside the road of vintage era. We were discussing sightings today. I saw a '63 Corvette convertible. Tracey said it was a '58. Art confirmed my sighting. We resolved the issue. The car I saw had two guys in it. Tracey's sighting was of a couple. Here's one of my favorites from along the road today:
Gotta go. Busy social life. Ice cream social in the parking lot this evening. Be sure to post your comments. I'm dying for feedback here.
